Church, Clubs and Organizations

It isn't only businesses and government that make Possibility City run. It's also the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a group of 7 to 12 year-old musicians who ended up as the focus of an HBO documentary. It's also the Americana Community Center, working to acclimate the city's newest immigrants to life in Louisville. It's also the Suburban Social Club, spending Saturdays from March through November frying up the best fish sandwich in town.

The city is unimaginable without all the groups that people join - the scout troops, PTAs, garden clubs, neighborhood associations, advocacy groups, ethnic associations, political clubs, charities, wildlife groups, book clubs, support groups, youth sports leagues.... Not to forget the churches - in Louisville, it's impossible to forget the churches. The city has more than 1100 congregations - Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Baha'i, Buddhist, as well as a number of other faith communities that don't identify themselves with any specific religion. People coming together to do good things - another signature of Possibility City.
