Ferrell earned a BFA in Studio Art and a minor in African Studies at Mount Holyoke (1994)\, and a Teaching Artist Certificate in 2011 from UARTS Philadelphia. She studied with Carolyn Pyfrom\, Robert White\, and Alyssa Monks. Particular influences are Bo Bartlett\, Edouard Vuillard\, Joseph Solman\, Robert Hamilton\, Carolyn Plochmann\, and Henry Taylor. \nFerrell is a 3-time cancer survivor\, turned patient advocate and advocate for art as a support for wellbeing and healing in medical settings. She has lived and taught in many places across the United States\, and recently traveled to work and exhibit in Bahrain\, Saudi Arabia\, Dubai\, and South Korea.  \nMeanwhile\, Ferrell has touchstone childhood experiences in Louisville\, where she was born and lived until 1990. She graduated from the J. Graham Brown School\, took art classes through the Louisville Visual Arts Saturday High School class program\, and had her first exhibition at Swanson Cralle Gallery on Bardstown Road. \nFerrell returned to Louisville in 2024. Her 2025 exhibit at Garner Large (“She Rides”) includes new works painted in her Louisville studio.

DESCRIPTION:Time Slip Theatre Presents First Local Production of Alanis Morissette's 'Jagged Little Pill' The Musical \nBased on the Alanis Morissette album\, the show will run in community partnership with Actors Theatre of Louisville\, January 30 – February 8 \n"Jagged Little Pill" is an exhilarating and cathartic musical theatre experience set to the music of the iconic 1995 album of the same name. From the outside looking in\, Mary Jane Healy lives the perfect life in her peaceful Connecticut suburb. Her husband Steve has a well-paying job in the city; her son Nick just got accepted into Harvard; and her adopted daughter Frankie is operating her own social advocacy student group. But beneath the surface\, there’s more than meets the eye for the Healy family. Mary Jane is struggling with addiction while doing everything she can to keep her family together in order to maintain the picture-perfect appearance she clings to. But when an incident at a high school party rocks this small community\, everyone is forced to look inward\, see who they truly are and find the courage to make a change. \nSet to the unforgettable music of Alanis Morissette\, the show features hits like “All I Really Want\,” “Ironic\,” “You Oughta Know\,” “You Learn” and more. Against this timeless and incisive rock music backdrop\, the show explores the messy and beautiful intersection of love\, strength\, trauma and identity and proves that it’s never too late to change your way of thinking. \nDirected by Remy Sisk and Myranda Thomas \nFunds raised from the show will help support the revitalization of an Old Louisville church that Time Slip recently moved into. Located at 100 W. Ormsby Ave.\, the building will be a theatre and community arts hub where Time Slip will produce its mainstage shows and host its after-school children's program.
