DESCRIPTION:LouGrass: A Celebration of Kentucky Music \nEnjoy free Bluegrass by the Backwoods Bluegrass Band on Thursday\, May 8th\, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Charr’d Bourbon Kitchen & Lounge at the Louisville Marriott East. \nBased out of Lawrence County\, Indiana\, the band has performed at numerous festivals and events. The band plays a mix of traditional bluegrass\, bluegrass gospel\, and a few songs from other genres that fit the Backwoods sound. They had the honor of performing at the Indiana State Museum as part of the Governor’s Tribute in 2016\, the NIBA Bluegrass Festival\, and Bluegrass in the Valley. Backwoods has released two albums\, “Backwoods Bluegrass Band” and the most recent “Revival”. The band is currently working on material and arrangements for their next album. DESCRIPTION:This yearʼs Hike will consist of a 4-mile walk with multiple marked turnaround points along the way. Travel from the Great Lawn and follow the Ohio River east to RiverPark Place and back. The furthest distance will cross the Big Four Bridge into Indiana and come back. Cycle from the Great Lawn out to Shawnee Park and back for nearly 12 miles. The roads will be closed for safe travel to Shawnee Park\, and volunteers will guide cyclists throughout the course. Paddlers will have the option of launching at the Harbor Lawn or the U of L Boat Docks and paddle downstream to meet the other paddlers. This yearʼs paddle will go from the Harbor Lawn downriver to the McAlpine Locks\, through the locks\, and to the Shawnee Park Boat Ramp. \nBeginning at 8 a.m.\, there will be plenty of fun\, free fitness activities for you to enjoy. FREE t-shirts are available to the first 2\,000 people. The t-shirt tent will open at 8:00 a.m.\, so make sure to get in line early! DESCRIPTION:The Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is a juried fair with more than 200 artists’ booths. The two-day event is free and open to the public. The Art Fair is held in Louisville’s historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood on tree-lined Cherokee Parkway between Willow Avenue and Cherokee Road. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming as they celebrate spring with old and new friends alike.
