Marketing & Communications Director 

Position Type: Full-time

This position reports directly to the Chief Marketer and Against The Grain ownership.

Hours Per Week:  40+

Wage:  Salary $40K to $55K annually

Job Description:

  • Direct and manage social media accounts for all Against the Grain brands and across locations
  • Ability to analyze and strategize social media and Google data
  • Create content for social media, as well as for internal resources. Photo and video skills are a plus.
  • Spot trends, build and grow an audience
  • Create and execute marketing campaigns and promotions for existing Against the Grain brands, as well as develop new ones
  • Communicate and coordinate with Against the Grain owners, managers, sales team, and brewery staff including leading monthly and weekly sales and marketing meetings. Produce effective presentations that sell a given strategy, tell a story, and persuasively sell-in concepts and strategies
  • Manage creative processes including but not limited to facilitating collaborative brainstorming, writing creative briefs, providing creative feedback, and working with an array of designers and producers
  • Ability to develop and design beer labels, point of sale items, and other marketing collateral. Familiarity with Adobe Suite is a plus.
  • Develop and design Against the Grain merchandise
  • Manage and safeguard Against the Grain brand, mark, and voice
  • Manage design and other creative projects
  • Execute newsletters and other communications with Against the Grain’s target market
  • Manage Against the Grain website
  • Manage and seek sponsorships and collaborations with other brands
  • Plan and attend events

Preferred Skills: 

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and planning tools such as Sprout, Sendible, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communications
  • Familiarity with Trello, MailChimp, Dropbox, and Google Suite
  • Flexibility and ability to travel between Against the Grain locations
  • Ability to work on a team, as well as work autonomously
  • Ability to plan and operate with a sense of urgency within deadlines and fast paced work environment juggling multiple projects and priorities at once
  • Comfortable working non-traditional hours when needed
  • Strong leadership skills
