Baptist Health Louisville is looking for energetic & qualified candidates to join our team in the Respiratory Therapy department with full time opportunities available on 1st & 3rd shifts. The Respiratory Care Department at Baptist Health Louisville is a clinical department comprised of 58 employees. Approximately 63 of these employees are bedside practitioners. Therapists work 12 hour shifts, with 9 – 10 scheduled per shift. Hours of operation cover 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
Professional opportunities for growth and development are readily available at Baptist Louisville. The department provides care to all age populations including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Therapists work very closely with the pulmonary physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care to persons experiencing breathing difficulty. Progressive practices are in place, including prone ventilation, extensive use of non-invasive ventilation and pressure control ventilation. Opportunities to work in the critical care units, open heart recovery unit, post-anesthesia care unit, and emergency department are available. Additionally, the department offers state-of-the-art pulmonary function studies using body plethysmography and performs specimen collection and analysis of blood gases, meeting the regulatory requirements to operate the Blood Gas Laboratory.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
Critical care and emergency care is preferred.
Requires successful completion of accredited program for Respiratory Care and passing the national credential exam issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Active Kentucky Respiratory Care Practitioner License required. Must maintain active certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support.
