POSITION SUMMARY:

The Special Events Associate helps coordinate and implement special events in the store. Serves as the liaison between the Store & Local Organizations & Affinity Groups

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
Assists with the execution of all major Promotional events.
Coordinates “in-house” outdoor skills workshop program.
Coordinates external and internal Public Relations activities.
Communicates all Store “events” timely & appropriately and works with Management to insure proper staffing.
Fosters goodwill for the BPS “Brand” in the local community.
Maintains strong relationships with local chapters of conservation organizations and affinity groups.
Submits timely information for tabs, website pages, signage, ROP, etc. to Marketing.
Keeps work area clean, neat and safe at all times.
Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.
Provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by:identifying and evaluating customers’ needs,
making product recommendations based off this analysis,
promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: High School education or equivalent experience
Experience: Conservation and outdoor experience / appreciation desired
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Public speaking ability is preferred
Good Planning and Organizational skills
Ability to function in a Microsoft Office environment, especially Word, Excel and data entry

Constantly stand and/or walk during shift
Constantly communicate with others to exchange information
Occasionally repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Occasionally work in low or high temperatures
Occasionally work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
Occasionally work in noisy environments
Light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed)
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
