The Controller is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Manages all financial aspects in the absence of the General Manager.
Directs financial operations.
Prepare and publish timely monthly trial balance and resulting financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet and statement of changes in financial condition, along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records.
Preparation and tracking of monthly Membership reports insuring accuracy of counts.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Prepares operating budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with the various committees, departments and general manager; analyzes financial information, monitors budgeted versus actual expenditures and advises management about variances and their potential causes; recommends corrective actions to help assure that budget goals are met.
Maintains fixed asset ledgers and prepares depreciation schedules for monthly entries.
Maintains construction work in progress schedules for renovation projects.
Handles all collection of past due accounts; advises general manager and board when difficult situations may arise.
Safeguards all funds in bank accounts; assures that revenues are properly and correctly deposited.
Enters all Accounts Payable invoices, including tracking credit card receipts adding proper coding along with processing all weekly Accounts Payable check runs.
Reviews all Vendor statements timely and handles all vendor related phone calls and requests.
Directs and verifies the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, equipment, furnishings and other club assets along with recording inventory adjustments as they occur.
Verifies that all insurance records for property are properly maintained including preparing and submitting yearly insurance audits required by each type of Insurance, i.e. Property & Liability and Workers Compensation.
Reconciles ledgers quarterly including receivables, payables and all other asset and liability accounts.
Provides documents to external audit firm for preparation of applicable federal, state and local tax returns.
Coordinate the annual external financial audit.
Manages external Benchmarking system with yearly updates and continual review of club comparisons, etc.
Oversees Initiation fee schedules and sets up newly committed members Initiation fees.
Compiles, approves and maintains credit applications for vendors.
Maintains all Capital leases insuring proper recording and monthly payment processing thereof.
Reviews and records all events held and creates invoices billing clients.
Processes Quarterly returns.
Distributes mail to proper departments as it arrives daily.
Collects and files invoices.
Develops all Adhoc and custom financial reporting as requested by the General Manager.
Purchases and maintains toner and Point of Sale supplies.
Monitors master key control procedures.
Resolves problems quickly, efficiently and courteously.
Attends departmental and staff meetings.
Completes other appropriate assignments made by the general manager.
Education / Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience as a Controller or an equivalent role OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
