• Minimum of 64 semester college credit hours from an accredited college and a minimum of a 2.45 GPA
1. Complete a JCPS online application and the state mandated online training courses. (Click the apply button in the upper right hand corner).
2. A Criminal Records Check is Required – After your application has been fully submitted, the Substitute Center will contact you to schedule your appointment. The records check fee is $33.25 (exact cash or check only) and a driver's license or picture I.D. is required. Note: records check fee may be changed without notice, these stay current for a year and this does not guarantee employment. There is a $10.00 fee for a State Child Abuse and Neglect Check.
3. Successful candidates will receive notification via email that they have met the necessary qualifications to attend the Substitute Teacher Orientation. This could take a couple of weeks.
