Mechanic Helper
Perform mechanical repairs and shop tasks under supervision of TARC mechanics.

Assist mechanics with lifting and maneuvering heavy parts and components and other vehicle maintenance tasks as assigned.
Disassembles simple components and clean parts for reassembly.
Request parts and tools for mechanics as needed.
Check and adjust fluid levels as needed.
Clean shop floors, driveways, tools, and equipment.
Operate buses (move buses into shop areas and around property for repair).
Operates company truck to make road repairs.
Complete work orders and other documents legibly and accurately.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques in performing tasks.
Operate tools and machinery relating to bus repair.
Comply to company policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED; an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding high school diploma, GED, licenses, or certifications.
One (1) year experience in minor vehicle and/or bus repair and general maintenance.
Hold or obtain a valid KY or IN driver’s license and CDL permit; Commercial Driver’s License experience preferred.
Must obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months of hire date.
Must be able to read, follow instructions and have the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally).
Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate TARC vehicles.
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch and/or crawl.
Must be able to reach, handle, finger and/or feel.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must have the ability to see, hear and speak.
Must have the ability to safety and properly operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Must have the ability to user computerized diagnostic equipment.
Must have the ability to safely and properly operate a coach or other vehicle.

Mechanic Helper starting hourly rate of $24.25
