Primary Function:

Provide external & internal customer service within the framework of Territory Team Management, through determination of needs and expectations so as to make value-oriented recommendations resulting in profitable sales activities and satisfied customers.

Position designed to provide a person already possessing appropriate basic skills with the training and experience to become a fully functioning and productive department member as a Level 4 Product Support Representative within an appropriate time frame. Therefore, other duties involving warehousing, delivery, answering phones, etc. may be required, at the discretion of management.

Essential Functions:

Handle phone orders, provide required information, place orders with vendors, follow-up and expedite, ensure customer’s needs and expectations are met.
Participate in Team Territory Management in assigned territory through general sales activities to promote growth in customer base, sales volume and profit margin. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: OEM Parts Sales, “Supply” Product Sales, Special Product Sales. Meet assigned goals for: Volume, Profitability, New Customer Development.
Provide technical information, sales and application assistance. Analyze, counsel, make recommendations; and prepare and issue quotations.
Negotiate with vendors and resolve invoice disputes.
Monitor customer past-due payments for parts orders and negotiate as appropriate to resolve invoice disputes.
Provide sales assistance to other department and team members internal and external.
Prepare and issue parts manuals as required.
Participate in department TQM Processes.
Prepare, issue and maintain files and correspondence as necessary to conduct department and company business in an orderly, efficient and professional manner. Complete reports and other required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare other reports as directed by management.
Adhere to established policies and procedures.
Attend vendor sales/product knowledge schools/seminars.
Provide service parts and support functions to service department as directed by supervision.
Assist in general warehousing activities, as directed by supervision.
Assist in general delivery activities, as directed by supervision.
Assist in managing incoming customer phone calls, as directed by supervision.
And other responsibilities as assigned by supervision.
Handle purchasing functions as directed.
Physical inventories.
And other responsibilities as assigned by supervision.


High School diploma or equivalent. General math, reading and writing skills at a minimum of grade level 12 are required. Typing skills and a basic computer literacy are required.
Prefer 3-5+ years post high school technical education/training related to job responsibilities.

Prefer minimum 3+ years successful sales experience in the Heavy Equipment/Industrial Equipment or related industry. However, as an entry level position basic customer service skills and aptitude and the ability to grow are important factors. Previous direct customer contact experience is preferable.
Personality to positively interact with customers. Good people skills.
Some travel and overnight stays required. Drivers license required. Flying required.
Strong reading and writing skills.
Good housekeeping skills.

Moderate to high stress levels.
Responsibilities are multifaceted, typically requiring fast paced work to meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to recognize, judge, evaluate priorities to meet multiple deadlines is essential.

Ability to concentrate, listen and understand.
Special Demands:

Overtime & Saturday work will be required.
Travel driving and air, required.

Pay: $18.00 – $26.10 per hour
