The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Human Resources Administrative Assistant for our Divisional Headquarters for the Kentucky – Tennessee Territory, located in, Louisville, Kentucky.


Compensation $17.00 hourly

Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:430

36.25 hours weekly

Job Summary

Performs a variety of human resources administrative  work supporting Human Resources processes including maintaining files, photocopying and scanning records, filing documents including correspondence, forms, lists, logs, etc. necessary for efficient operations of the department; answering the telephone and providing general information regarding the department operations and/or services; and conducting background checks specific to calling references; and supporting the director as needed. Serve as back up and relief receptionist.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of human resource administration and office procedures. Good oral and written communications skills. Ability to follow instructions and make recommendations as needed to improve processes and procedures. Ability to operate various general office equipment including a computer, photocopy machine, typewriter, facsimile, calculator. Ability to file paperwork and maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that items can be retrieved in a timely manner. Ability to answer the telephone in a courteous and tactful manner. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the department


Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D. required supplemented by additional training and educational background in office administration, and three years of related experience preferably in a Human Resources office.


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
