Talis Group’s client is a premier manufacturer and distributor of precision equipment. This company is experiencing extensive growth and is hiring a Buyer / Planner to handle component purchasing, inventory control and resource planning. This position would also manage vendor relationships and ensure efficiencies throughout the supply chain process. This international company sells equipment in over 50 countries but still maintains its small family company culture. Position will be located in So. Indiana, just across the bridge from Louisville, KY. competitive salary and benefits with growth opportunity are offered. Salary range: $50-$55k

Highlighted Duties:

Analyze material needs to ensure appropriate material flow using Min/Max, MRP and pull indicators
Ensures efficient management of commodities (lead times, blanket orders, forecasts, kanban’s)
Identify, develop and manage vendors relationships ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are met.
Purchase assigned components including order placement, expediting & discrepant material resolution – both domestic and international.
Create and maintain inventory and production reports
Work directly with production resources and suppliers to eliminate material shortages and/or work order delays
Maintain and improve lean techniques for inventory management, point of use stocking, and just in time manufacturing planning of customer orders.
Report to Supply Chain Manager to establish workflow including release dates & possible risk to production times.
Ensure inventory accuracy as it relates to transactional activity within the ERP system

Highlighted Requirements:

2+ years of experience in purchasing or planning
Must have solid experience in MRP/ERP systems
Seeking candidate with excellent communication skills
Strong skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
ust be able to work independently
