Talis Group’s client is a leader in consumer equipment This highly successful company in business over 150 years is hiring a Director of Purchasing to join their team. This position will lead the company’s procurement and sourcing strategies to ensure seamless operations and meet customer demands. This role focuses on minimizing costs, optimizing supply chains, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. Reporting to Senior Leadership, you will oversee both domestic and global procurement. Highlighted Duties:
Build and manage a high-performance procurement team.
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement and sourcing strategies to align with business goals.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage supplier relationships.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, vendors and partners.
Ensure domestic and international suppliers meet performance metrics and support new product initiatives.
Negotiate contracts to optimize value, quality, and delivery.
Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions and market volatility.
Ensure suppliers meet customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
Support comprehensive inventory model based on analysis and collaboration with sales and finance for optimum inventory turns and JIT sourcing to meet seasonal demand.
Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with business objectives.
Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s).
Maintain documented procedures and policies.
Highlighted Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, procurement, supply chain management, or related field. Master’s degree or advanced certification is a plus.
10+ years in procurement or supply chain management, with 4+ years in leadership
Experience with domestic and global suppliers, especially in China, Vietnam, India, or South America.
Proven track record in negotiating and managing high-performing teams.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and ERP systems
Excellent Excel skills and analytical capabilities.
Strong communication and leadership skills with a focus on team development.
