A substantial local construction firm is seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to support the Controller with project and other company accounting functions. This Assistant Controller will work closely with project managers, perform project financial analysis, prepare WIP calculations, financial reporting, general ledger entries, and assist with monthly close.

Highlighted Duties:
Responsible for project financial analysis, generating financial reports, and regulatory reporting
Assist with timely month end close process working in an ERP system
Work closely with project management team on project cost oversight and system troubleshooting
Project cost accounting including monthly WIP calculations
Provide excellent internal and external customer service and support
Coordinate activities for annual audit
Assist Controller with special projects and research as needed
Highlighted Requirements:
Bachelor’s in accounting or similar required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience including general accounting (AR/AP)
Construction industry and basic job costing experience
Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, project cost management, and financial controls
Working experience in ERP systems, accounting software, tax preparation software, payroll systems, and Excel
ERP system implementation experience (troubleshooting, etc.) desired
Passion for continuous improvement; experience streamlining policies and procedures
A customer service focused accounting professional who is organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written, oral, listening, presentation, influence, and interpersonal skills
