Cave Hill Cemetery & Arboretum is presenting a rare opportunity as they seek an exceptional senior management leader to join their team as Chief Financial Officer. Beautiful Cave Hill has been a vital part of Louisville’s history for over 175 years for its biodiversity, stunning monumental art and as the final resting place to legends and people of all walks of life. This strong operational leader will help support Cave Hill’s culture of excellence after a well tenured predecessor’s retirement. CFO will be trained by the predecessor and will report to the President/CEO and Board of Directors. The CFO will direct the accounting and business office functions of the Cave Hill Cemetery, Cave Hill Investment Company, and the Cave Hill Heritage Foundation.

This role includes full employee benefits, a market competitive salary ($140k – $160k) and an annual performance-based bonus plan to be determined. Possible relocation reimbursement available if needed. Highlighted Duties:

Responsible for financial oversight, daily general accounting team and business office team management
Participate in the organizations strategic planning by providing financial information and guidance
Coordinate annual budgets and necessary reporting
Ensure effective internal controls are in place, compliant with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws for financial reporting
Administrator for company business insurance, healthcare insurance, 401(k), and cafeteria plans
Responsible for human resource management of the Cave Hill Cemetery Staff including coaching management and compensation program (72 employees)
Work closely with managers on workforce planning including recruiting, selection, annual reviews, and performance improvement plans
Revise and maintain accounting policies and systems
Provide outstanding customer service and communication with management team, employees, and visiting families
Coordinate with CPA firm, investment advisors and employment law attorney

Highlighted Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar required
Professional certification (CPA, etc.) or a Master’s degree in accounting or similar preferred
5+ years of experience in executive accounting/finance leadership roles
Hands on human resources experience and oversight including working with benefits brokers and vendors
Experience overseeing daily accounting (AR/AP)
Solutions driven problem solver with an exceptional customer service mindset
Excellence verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills needed to effectively convey care, support, and information to others
