Talis Group’s client is a manufacturer with multiple plant locations and a union environment. This well-established company is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join their team. Successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing health and safety strategies and requirements in the manufacturing industry. Environmental regulatory compliance experience a plus. Company has developed positive union relationships with little turnover and offers an employee focused culture with excellent benefits, including 401K.

Highlighted Duties:

Oversee, direct and mentor EHS, medical and security personnel
Develop and implement strategies to ensure plant maintains regulatory environmental compliance
Develop and revise plant safety program, processes and procedures
Serve as liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies as well as local safety and medical resources
Build strong relationships with managers, vendors and contractors to ensure health and safety best practices
Manage and oversee onsite medical response training, certifications and equipment.
Review and revise safety training plan and ensure training compliance
Monitor accident investigation process, ensuring corrective actions are completed and compliant
Ensure compliance for all reporting and recordkeeping requirements
Drive continuous improvement culture as it relates to environmental health and safety performance
Stay abreast of new regulatory requirements. Group’s client is (describe)
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Highlighted Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health & Safety for manufacturing industry
Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards required
Some experience in environmental compliance and regulations preferred but not required
Emergency response or firefighting training / certification preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with deadlines
Ability to travel regionally required occasionally
