Talis Group’s client is a global chemical manufacturer leading the market with its cutting-edge technology. This fast-growing company is hiring a General Manager to lead operations for the Louisville, KY site. The successful candidate will have inorganic chemistry knowledge and a proven background of operations management. Highlighted Duties:

Responsibility for leading, planning, and managing operations, expenses, headcount, budgets and goals.
Matrix reporting with overall responsibility for Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Safety, Human Resources, and Accounting with dotted line to R&D and Sales
Provide the operational leadership and innovation required to contribute to rapid and profitable Company growth.
Optimize supply chain and overall manufacturing cost structure.
Position will ensure costs are set accurately and with the mindset of driving increased profitability
Optimize manufacturing to continuously improve delivery and product quality
Continue to develop a positive culture focused on communication, process efficiencies and team development in a multicultural environment
Implement and maintain performance measurement indicators to constantly improve the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing operations
Responsible for driving SAP optimization projects, resulting in lower production costs, optimized throughput, product consistency and customer quality requirements
Ensure a clean and safe work environment, focus on EHS issues.
Work and communicate closely with global team to ensure alignment of global policies and processes

Highlighted Requirements:

MUST have experience with Inorganic Chemistry
Bachelor degree or advanced degree preferred in engineering or related technical discipline
10+ years of progressive experience in chemical operations or chemical engineering industry
Strong track record of hands-on manufacturing management, supply chain or engineering
Prefer candidate with experience working for international company
Proven leadership experience with a continuous improvement mindset and results oriented working attitude.
Fluency in German or Mandarin a plus
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be proficient in ERP/MRP system, SAP preferred
