Talis Group’s client is an award-winning, full-service law firm located in Louisville. They are looking to hire a Legal Billing Specialist to support the daily operations of the accounting team. This role will prepare & process billing invoices from pre-stage to final invoicing for the firm’s clients. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a salary range of $65k-$80k (depending on experience) plus full benefits and generous paid time off & holidays. This employer also provides a hybrid schedule after training is completed.
Preferred candidate will have prior law firm experience (mainly generating billing for attorney & paralegal time) and proficiency in Elite Enterprise, 3E, and/or Aderant software.
Highlighted Duties:
Billing Process Management: Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and other team members to generate prebills, monitor unbilled time, and to ensure timely billing and collections.
Prebill Editing: Make necessary edits to prebills per partner instructions, including time descriptions, transfers, and write-downs/offs of unbilled time/costs in accordance with firm policies.
Client Account Management: Proactively follow-up with Billing Partners and others to resolve client billing issues & ensure invoices are approved and billed.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile and maintain client accounts & accrual schedules.
Prebill Review: Review prebills and follow-up with attorneys to ensure that entries are posted correctly.
Billing System Utilization: Edit & translate prebills into bills using the 3E system.
Provide general support to the accounting department as needed.
Highlighted Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience of similar work, preferably in a law firm or professional organization.
Proficiency in Elite Enterprise Accounting software, 3E, or ADERANT is preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (formatting, pivot tables, and basic formulas.)
Ability to prioritize & organize tasks with high attention to details.
Maintain professionalism & strict confidentiality in all interactions.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
