They are searching for a Materials Manager to oversee the planning and coordination of inventory and purchasing ensuring materials are available when needed. Highlighted Duties

Supervise and schedule: Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing Analyst, Inventory Specialist
Review purchasing agreements for quality, pricing, payment terms, delivery, etc.
Ensure suppliers meet quality standards and have the capacity to provide quality products
Negotiate cost reductions
Approve purchase orders, control prices, quality and ensure timely delivery
Ensure supplier management systems are in place to meet company and TS 16949 requirements
Assist in the design of packaging and procurement of materials
Ensure compliance with regulations regarding delivery of hazardous materials
Paperwork, documentation and reporting
Verify inventory counts periodically to avoid material shortages
Assist with interviewing, hiring and training
Highlighted Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business
5 years materials management and/or purchasing
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions to practical situations.
The ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, and suppliers at all levels.
Must have the ability to interact with both Japanese and Americans.
