OVERVIEW: The Human Trafficking Coordinator is responsible for providing medical advocacy and support in hospital and clinic settings to survivors of sexual assault across The Center for Women and Families service region. The Human Trafficking Coordinator will also provide counseling, advocacy, and case management to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, with a specialization in sex trafficking.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide trauma-informed services to clients affected by intimate partner violence and sexual assault, including:
    • Conduct client intake, assessment, and case planning.
    • Provide advocacy, brief supportive counseling, and case management to both non-residential and shelter clients who are victims of or who screen at risk for sex trafficking.
    • Provide referrals and follow-up services.
  • Collaborate within CWF and with other coalitions, agencies, networks, and organizations that specifically target survivors of sex trafficking, in order to:
    • Develop and maintain accessibility of CWF services to sex trafficking survivors.
    • Research, develop materials for, and facilitate workshops/trainings.
    • Serve as a resource to other staff serving human trafficking clients.
  • Fulfill ongoing assigned programmatic duties such as:
    • Active participation in staff, team, committee, agency, and assigned community meetings.
    • Maintain timely case records and statistics per agency and funder guidelines.
    • Provide outreach services and community collaboration as assigned.
    • Participate in on-call rotation for hospital advocacy.
    • Support the ongoing operation of CWF by assisting in occasional coverage for groups, crisis line, shelter staffing, front desk, and other client services as needed.
    • Comply with State reporting guidelines for abuse and neglect.
    • Provide leadership as needed for committees and facilitate trainings (NAT).
  • Maintain job-related knowledge, expertise, and skills by:
    • Engaging in supervision.
    • Staying current on job-related research and publications.
    • Participating in agency or external trainings in order to maintain a minimum of 12 hours of annual continued education (CE), of which 6 hours must include training relevant to the provision of Rape/Sexual Abuse services.
    • Attaining CPR/First Aid certification within first year of employment and kept current thereafter; and
    • Completing training on Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogens within the first 30 days of employment and keep current thereafter.
  • Manage services program for victims of sex trafficking including:
    • Provide intensive case management and supportive services, such as accompaniment for groceries, medical appointments, helping to set up collaborative services with therapy and other community supports.
    • Partner with grants office and Director of Sexual Assault and Prevention Services to provide all necessary statistics, reports, and narratives.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelors degree. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree.

Other:

  • Must have a valid drivers license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
  • Fluency in languages other than English are a plus.

The Center requires vaccination, but as an alternative, allows for those partially or unvaccinated to test weekly for COVID-19. The Center requires masks to be worn always.
