To promote choice, independence and personal growth through person centered services that encourage the development of rewarding relationships, community connections, broadening communication skills, building on self-reliance by increasing life skills and providing direct support to individuals within their home. A residential DSP is responsible for managing the day to day activities within the home while respecting the rights and choices of all participants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer medication as prescribed
Works directly with participants in their preferred activities, such as sensory, arts and crafts, educational opportunities and community outreach.
Provide regularly scheduled activities that are designed to foster the acquisition of skills, build positive social behavior and interpersonal competence, and encourage greater independence and personal choice.
Provide training and support designed to maintain skills and functioning or new ones for improvement.
Complete all required Medicaid, DDID and Zoom Group required documentation which includes, but is not limited to: incident reports, daily attendance, individual goal/objective progression through daily contact notes, and monthly summaries, as well as, medication tracking on MAR’s.
Provide physical care and assistance to participants in performing daily life activities.
Work with participants to create healthy and nutritious meals
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Attend occasional meetings as needed.
Complete accurate and compliant documentation in a timely manner.
Model appropriate professional behavior(s) and gain a personal understanding of each team member by gathering feedback.
Facilitate communication and engagement with team members.
Prioritizing and planning.
Skills and Abilities:
Computer knowledge of Microsoft suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
