Role Overview

The Prep Cook supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and recipes to spec, maintaining food quality and safety, and ensuring a clean, efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion products according to standardized recipes.

  • Review daily prep lists at the start of each shift and complete assigned tasks.

  • Stock, label, and rotate inventory using FIFO to maintain freshness.

  • Keep a clean, sanitary work environment in compliance with Louisville health code regulations (e.g., tables, shelves, walls, coolers, kettles, tilt skillet, ovens, and dry storage).

  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies/procedures consistently.

  • Promptly report equipment issues, product shortages, or food quality concerns to the Kitchen Manager.

  • Wash dishes and restock as needed to support service flow.

  • Attend all scheduled meetings and trainings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.

  • Learn and follow standardized processes relevant to your role across all company operations.

  • Self-manage daily responsibilities and uphold excellent attendance.

Qualifications

  • Proven reliability with a strong attendance record.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

  • Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, and portion standards with attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; commitment to compliance.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Background check and drug test required.

Pay & Benefits

  • $20/hour

  • Percentage of event tips (as paid to the operations team)

  • Paid holidays

  • 30–40 hours/week on average

  • Typical work hours vary between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Schedule flexes Monday–Saturday based on event needs

  • Paid Time Off (accrual begins after 90 days)

  • 401(k) + company match (eligible after 1 year)

90-day probationary period
