Description:
The OB Technician assists other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of patient care during the intra-operative period.
The major focus for this position is on assisting during vaginal and/or cesarean deliveries under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses.
The OB Technician may help set up the operating room and prepare and transport patients for surgery.
Key responsibilities include adjusting lights and equipment, passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants, holding retractors, and helping to count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
This individual must possess basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique.
It is essential to apply this knowledge in all patient and family interactions.

Required Skills & Experience:
One (1) year in an operating room setting.
Operating room setup.
Patient preparation for surgery.
Equipment adjustment.
Instrument passing.

Holding retractors.
