Bites & Bourbon

A small plate. A large glass. Perfect balance.

There is so much more to the Louisville dining and nightlife scene than bourbon. There are Chefs recognized in the Michelin Guide, Chefs honored by the James Beard Foundation, and six restaurants that have been featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-In’s and Dives. There are downtown spots and spots on the river. There are food trucks and food festivals. And then there is the bourbon. Our Urban Bourbon Trail features nearly 20 establishments, each showcasing at least 50 different bourbon labels. From Hot Brown’s (not bourbon) to the birthplace of the original cheeseburger, you will find the perfect balance of happy and happier here.

FROM YOUR BREAKFAST BITES TO YOUR GRAVEYARD GRUB.

Hunger happens.

Which is why it’s important to find your go-to spot for every meal occasion. Farm-to-table lives here. As do elevated comfort foods prepared with the highest quality nostalgic ingredients. From simple to sophisticated, Southern to Southeast Asian, enjoying a sensational meal in Louisville is a source of community pride.

Taste the Spirit of Louisville.

Since 1783, bourbon has left Louisville’s docks and flowed downstream to the Mississippi. Our Whiskey Row first boomed in the mid-1800s. Today, the Victorian-era steel front buildings have been lovingly restored, now housing new distilleries, bars and restaurants. Other cities have bars that serve whiskey. In Kentucky, the distiller’s art defines our cultural identity, and there are dozens of distilleries a short drive from Greater Louisville waiting to be discovered.

Craft goes beyond whiskey in our local coffeehouses.

Roasted. Toasted. Dripped.
Iced. Sustainable. Local.

Whether you prefer your coffee with a side of cream or the latest vinyl, we’ve got it here. Our fiercely independent spirit extends to our coffee shops with more local shops than you’ll have time to visit. Pop in anywhere and get a pour-over or hand drip any time of day.

Even Evan, Jack and Jim
drank the occasional beer.

Squealers, Crowlers, Howlers and Jugs of frosty goodness all brewed here.

Home to one of the best beer trails and a Top 10 beer festival. You can enjoy a pint in a former gothic church, on a roof overlooking the city, across the river in Southern Indiana, and everywhere in between. Local, national, international, and, of course, bourbon-infused beers are all on tap and waiting to be poured.
