The History of the Cocktail

October 22 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$18.00

What were the first cocktails and how did they get such a fanciful name? Mixed drinks have an illustrious history from ancient Persia and Colonial America to Victorian England and Jazz Age Paris. Not to mention the rinse of the modern cocktail renaissance and depictions of popular drinks in film and television. Was the Old Fashioned really invented at Louisville’s Pendennis Club? And who was the Lexington-born woman who threw the first documented cocktail party? Join recognized bourbon-authority, Susan Reigler for an informative and exciting walk through the bottles of time. Susan is the author of seven whiskey books including her latest, Kentucky Bourbon: The Essential Guide to the American Spirit. She is the past president of the Bourbon Women Association and the Content Director and co-creator of the American Whiskey Scholar certification program.
